Ensono Hires State Government Veteran Dean Johnson as Senior Executive Government Advisor

Ensono continues to build its public sector expertise with the addition of former Georgia Chief Operating Officer

Ensono announced today that Dean Johnson joins Ensono as Senior Executive Government Advisor. In his role, Johnson will be responsible for accelerating the acquisition, growth and management of clients in Ensono’s State, Local and Education (SLED) vertical. Johnson aims to expand Ensono’s existing portfolio of services while extending its reach with key vendor partners and third-party advisors specific to the SLED practice area.

“When we look at what we need to grow within the public sector, Dean exceeds all criteria,” said Clint Dean, Ensono Vice President, State and Local Government and Education. “Dean is widely respected in the SLED vertical and across the IT industry. His reputation for driving digital transformation, cultivating strong relationships, and enabling innovation make him a terrific addition to our team at a critical period of high growth for Ensono.”

Johnson has more than 35 years of experience providing information technology services for both the public and private sectors. Prior to Ensono, Johnson was Chief Operating Officer for the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) where he worked closely with various state agencies and service provider leadership teams to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions that adhere to statewide enterprise standards and meet future business needs. Under Johnson’s leadership, the state of Georgia entered a partnership with market leading private-sector technology companies to provide IT infrastructure and managed network services to state agencies. The partnership, known as the Georgia Enterprise Technology Services (GETS) program, strengthened security, modernized infrastructure and networks, improved reliability, and increased transparency in the state’s IT enterprise. The program has saved the state of Georgia nearly $400 million in IT spend in its first 10 years.

“The public sector is at a pivotal moment for digital transformation, and it was important to me to join an organization that is helping to move government agencies forward,” said Johnson. “Ensono brings together people, process and technology to serve the ever-changing business needs of its clients, and I am confident the dynamic hybrid IT work that Ensono does will resonate with all states across this nation. I look forward to making an impact on the company’s growing public sector practice.”

Johnson has served on numerous workgroups and committees within the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO). He also served on the Executive Board, is a past president, a designated Life Member, and continues to actively participate on the membership committee for the National Association of State Technology Directors (NASTD).
