Exciting chapter begins for Ensono with a new investor to drive continued growth.

Ensono and KKR, a leading global investment firm, today announced that KKR has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ensono from Charlesbank Capital Partners and M/C Partners. The new investment follows multiple years of strong performance by Ensono, including robust growth in 2020 and its recently completed acquisition of Amido, a UK-based cloud native consultancy.

Ensono has announced its acquisition of Amido, a cloud-native consultancy based in the UK. The deal marks a turning point for Ensono which will bring cloud-native software engineering capabilities in-house. This will further extend Ensono’s ability to create and support client applications that are purpose-built in the cloud. With the addition of Amido, Ensono becomes one of the few companies capable of advising, transforming, and operating an enterprise’s entire IT estate across mainframe, private and public cloud.

Ensono conducted research into business’ SAP environments and found that, while the majority of SAP applications are still housed on-premise, 70% of those responsible for SAP believe migrating to the public cloud will be more beneficial than keeping it on-premise. In fact, 61% stated that migrating SAP to public cloud is critical for business success.

Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech) partnered with Ensono to transition the current on-premise mainframe environment to Ensono’s cloud-based services. The contract was signed on March 2, 2020 by WaTech Director and State Chief Information Officer Jim Weaver.

Ensono has taken over operations of the current mainframe in Olympia and will migrate the state enterprise workloads (applications, databases and interfaces) to Ensono’s Data Center in Omaha, Nebraska in December.
