Administer, maintain and support Linux (RHEL/Suse/Ubuntu/CentOS) operating systems
Resolve major incidents and technical escalations within agreed SLAs and quality.
Problem Management: Perform root cause analysis for problems and major incidents, provide workarounds to ensure business continuity and prepare RCA reports
Change Management: Prepare Implementation plan, rollback plan and test plan, risk and impact analysis for critical or complex changes.
Perform advance tasks such as, capacity planning, performance monitoring, provide recommendations for improvement and implement or oversee implementation of the recommendations
Establish end-to-end monitoring and alerting on all critical components of the application
Participate in the on-call rotation supporting the automation platforms
Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues
Harden operating system parameters in line with client / Dimension Data security policy, standards or best practices
Experience in managing and supporting Linux systems (RHEL/Suse/Ubuntu/CentOS)
Experience in managing RedHat HA/Pacemaker clusters
Experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or infrastructure engineering
Experience with shell script and Ansible to automate tasks
Experience with Jenkins CI/CD pipeline, GitHub and bitbucket
Strong knowledge on NGINX/Apache/Tomcat deployments
BS or MS in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent professional experience
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Excellent written and verbal communication, able to collaborate and rally support
Self-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated and strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
Passion for automation and monitoring instrumentation in the code
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
Passionate to learn, understand, and dissect new technology stack quickly on own
Overall hands-on development experience of 8 to 10 years
