About the role and what you’ll be doing
You will spend most of your time working as part of an agile delivery team on an exciting project helping that client to realise the business benefit of an investment into the cloud. Our projects vary a huge amount from client to client, so you’ll never get bored.
This will be a hands-on technical role as one of our DevOps Consultant, but you won't be alone, you will be joining a cross-functional team of like minds and shared values, helping out clients become more efficient, by demonstrating the business benefits of CI/CD. On a day-to-day basis, you will be working hand in hand with the client and your fellow Amido team members to uncover the hard problems and solving them using cloud-native technologies, modern techniques and software.
Amido has a rich and varied set of communities (on a wide variety of topics from security to mental health) as well as your core competency that you’ll be encouraged to contribute to, and learn from, where projects and client commitments allow.
You will be a self-starter, proactive in your project work and your career, including identifying your training needs and planning to fill them with the help of your training budget.
What you’ll bring to Amido
When you join Amido you will be joining one of our teams delivering products for our clients, as such, you will be expected to be able to create CI/CD pipelines using modern software and techniques mentioned below:
Can create basic CI/CD pipelines from scratch, with commercial experience in one of the following: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, TravisCI, CircleCI Configuration Management and infrastructure using Octopus Deploy
Cloud experience with either Azure, AWS or GCP
Implemented basic pipeline steps to provide security governance on a project (i.e. OSWASP ZAP, SonarQube, etc)
Experience contributing changes to existing reusable pipeline templates (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, CircleCI) or infrastructure modules (Terraform, Ansible)
Experience working with Kubernetes and Terraform
Ability to follow code and understands stack traces written in languages such as Java, C# and NodeJS
We expect our consultants to be self-motivated and commercially aware, so having the ability to understand the client’s business and the stakeholders involved in the project ensures that they get what they need to make the project a success.
Being a consultant at Amido means you are always on the front line, you’ll be working closely with clients and you need to know how to build a network so that when your team needs something you know who to call in a favour from.
You will always be prepared to explain what your project does, how it works and how it benefits the business – in your interview expect to pick up a whiteboard marker to help you explain some of the finer points of your past experience.
