Ensono and Attenda – Frequently Asked Questions

On September 12, 2016, Ensono acquired Attenda, a leading pure-play provider of critical-application and hybrid IT managed services in the UK. This is the first major acquisition for Ensono since its launch on January 12, 2016.

Q: Who is Attenda?

A: Attenda (www.attenda.com) is one of the UK’s leading managed services and cloud platform providers, specializing in running business critical applications. It has clients in financial services, media, online services and hospitality.

Attenda has a staff of approximately 250 and is headquartered just outside of London in Staines-upon-Thames. There is an additional office in South Wales.

Q: Why did Ensono acquire Attenda?

A: Ensono is joining forces with Attenda to establish a market leadership position in hybrid IT operations. The addition of Attenda to the Ensono family extends our reach to better support our clients’ global operations. It augments our existing cloud solutions with additional application and hybrid IT capabilities. This includes a proprietary hybrid IT service management platform that incorporates AWS and Azure.

In the end, we’re better able to help clients manage their complex applications and workloads seamlessly across multiple environments. Or, as we like to say, “hybrid IT just got better.”

From a culture perspective, we couldn’t ask for a better fit. Ensono and Attenda share a client-first mindset that celebrates passion and innovation. We both have long-tenured staff and are hyperfocused on investing in the success of our associates. Attenda is one of the Sunday Times’ 100 Best Companies to Work for in the UK and is the highest-ranking IT service provider on the list.

Q: How will this change Ensono’s service offering?

A: Ensono’s heritage in managing complex workloads on traditional infrastructure, coupled with Attenda’s proficiency in running business-critical cloud applications, dramatically enhances our ability to bridge the gap between traditional IT and cloud environments. Look for future communications on when new services will be available.

Q: Will both companies be integrated?

A: Attenda will be integrated into Ensono. In the interim, the company will be known as “Attenda, an Ensono company.” Ensono CEO Jeff VonDeylen will lead the combined company, and Mark Fowle, founder and former CEO of Attenda, will join the Ensono Board of Directors to ensure a smooth transition and help Jeff with strategic direction.

Q: What are the plans for existing Attenda team members?
A: As all companies must do, we will be evaluating the long-term needs of the business, including the skill sets and operating model that will drive the greatest revenue growth for the combined company. We fully expect that, as our company grows, there will also be growth opportunities for our associates in the U.S. and internationally. In the limited circumstances where there are efficiencies that result in organizational changes, we will communicate them openly and as soon as possible.

Q: How will this acquisition benefit existing clients and prospects?
A: When we began our journey last August — and launched the Ensono brand earlier this year — we made a strong commitment to innovation. We promised to deliver solutions that help our clients operate for today, and optimize for tomorrow. By welcoming Attenda into the Ensono family, we have better positioned ourselves to deliver on our promise.

Q: How will this acquisition benefit partners?
A: Expansion of Ensono’s global footprint, diversification of our client base, and the addition of Attenda’s tools and processes strengthen Ensono’s position and capabilities as the premier provider of mission-critical and hybrid, cross-platform IT.  We believe this creates exciting potential for both new and expanded partnerships.

Q: How will this acquisition benefit vendors?
A:  We value the relationships we’ve developed with our vendors. We believe these relationships will only benefit from our investments in the company — resulting in more mutual business. Existing vendors will receive additional information from Ensono’s global procurement and real estate team.
