About the role and what you will be doing:
As a system engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Hybrid Cloud POD, supporting mission-critical infrastructure for Ensono’s clients. Your expertise will be instrumental in resolving complex technical client incidents and problems, delivering a responsive and remarkable service that our clients rely on.
This role is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in Windows systems who is enthusiastic to expand their skills in a collaborative environment. Experience with Linux and AWS would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for Ensono client environments, resolving incidents and service requests escalated.
- Perform problem management, helping to identify and tackle critical and recurring issues.
- Support the change management process, including drafting and implementing changes under guidance.
- Perform administration and troubleshooting of Windows Server environments.
- Gain experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, AWS, and Azure).
- Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises alongside senior engineers.
- Support post-incident reviews and root cause analysis for client reporting
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams, escalating issues when required.
- Continue developing technical expertise through training, mentorship, and exposure to clients.
- Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota, if required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Possess a strong understanding of Windows server administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience in Linux server administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with AWS environments.
- Additional preferred knowledge: Azure, VMware, networking, and storage area networks.
- Knowledge of ITIL and its function within IT.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Analytical mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in a systems engineer role (Windows/Linux/AWS).
- Experience working within a managed services environment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of working in an ITIL environment.
Certifications
- Engineering certification in Microsoft, Red Hat, AWS, or Azure is desirable.
- ITIL Foundation.
