About the role and what you’ll be doing: As an Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for managing the company’s global financial consolidation and reporting processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. This role serves as a key partner to global and regional accounting teams, leads the monthly close and consolidation process, supports technical accounting initiatives, and plays a critical role in maintaining a strong financial control environment. The position requires strong systems aptitude, technical accounting expertise, and the ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization. This role is critical to delivering transparent, reliable financial information that supports executive decision-making and external stakeholder confidence.

This is a hybrid role, and you’ll be expected in our Downers Grove HQ offices at least once week. 

 

Financial Systems & Process Ownership

  • Serve as a power user of financial consolidation and reporting systems (e.g., Workday, Office Connect), optimizing system capabilities, data integrity, and reporting efficiency.

Global Close & Consolidation

  • Lead the global monthly close and consolidation process, ensuring timely, accurate completion.
  • Drive continuous improvements to close timeliness, accuracy, and predictability, including root cause analysis of close issues and recurring adjustments.
  • Coordinate with global, regional, and revenue accounting teams to resolve issues, drive consistency, and ensure timely balance sheet reconciliations.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Perform variance analysis and validate results against underlying accounting records in partnership with regional teams.

Technical Accounting & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with global accounting policies and US GAAP.
  • Support technical accounting initiatives, including new accounting standard implementations and complex contract reviews.

Audit, Controls & Risk Management

  • Maintain audit ready documentation and serve as a primary liaison for external auditors.
  • Support and enhance the financial reporting control environment, including identification and remediation of control gaps.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Support enterprise accounting initiatives and drive continuous improvement across close, consolidation, and reporting processes.

People Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Lead, coach, and develop members of the financial reporting and consolidation team, fostering accountability and high performance.
  • Build strong relationships with finance and business leaders, proactively identifying issues and delivering solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA
  • Public accounting experience
  • 7 years progressive accounting experience, including experience managing people
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and global financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in managing financial consolidations and global close processes
  • Experience with Workday Financials and/or Office Connect (or similar consolidation and reporting tools).

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this role is $96,000 to $135,000 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. In addition to base salary, other compensation programs, depending on eligibility, include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance and an equity grant under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
