Ensono Announces the Launch of its Cloud Academy for AWS, Azure Training in an Effort to Close the Tech Industry™s Talent Gap

Ensono, a leading hybrid IT services provider, announces the launch of its Cloud Academy, a 2-year training program designed to help close the tech industry’s talent gap through specialized training of public cloud services.

Dice.com currently lists more than 16,000 available jobs with “cloud” in the title today. IDC’s Worldwide CIO Agenda 2019 Predictions shows 30 percent of high-demand roles for emerging technologies will remain unfilled through 2022. Ensono’s Cloud Academy will aim to close the talent gap that exists for cloud expertise today, bringing more cloud experts to the market and helping students fill the vast number of roles available in cloud tech.

“Working in cloud technology doesn’t mean you need a 4-year degree or prior tech experience, and our goal through Ensono Cloud Academy is to provide basic training to hard-working and capable individuals who want to pursue cloud careers,” said Gordon McKenna, CTO, Public Cloud at Ensono. “I come from a non-traditional education background myself, and Ensono’s leadership team understands there’s not one right place to start. Ensono’s Cloud Academy offers the community a different type of starting point to pursue careers in technology.”

Ensono plans to hire all of its Cloud Academy graduates. A college degree is not a requirement to enroll, and courses are offered both online and in-person. Mentorship opportunities are also available through the program, where students will be matched with Ensono associates for career advice and support.

“I’m always searching for new opportunities to build my technical skills and take my career to the next level,” said Judy Deogracias, one of the Cloud Academy students. “Cloud is changing the way companies do business and few institutions provide an in-depth education for specific cloud platforms. Ensono’s Cloud Academy not only provides specific courses around AWS and Azure, but it offers mentorship opportunities to get both the hands-on experience and educational background necessary to work in a technical role.”

“Ensono offers both AWS and Azure expertise to help our clients transform. Finding talent with platform-specific experience can be a challenge,” said Brian Klingbeil, Ensono’s EVP, Technology and Strategy. “We want to help the local tech community fill roles and help candidates find gratifying, long-term careers, which is why launching Ensono Cloud Academy is so important to us.”

Today, organizations around the world are making strides in digital transformation, which largely include cloud migration. Ensono’s Cloud Academy program participants identify the cloud platform they want to focus on for their two-year curriculum – AWS or Azure – and then concentrate on specific skills and proficiencies for the platform of their choosing through a customized training course.

The technology industry’s skills gap has been a hurdle for companies looking to build teams and boost expertise. Ensono is no exception to the talent gap facing the industry. The Cloud Academy program aims to close that gap.
