Senior Capacity Management

Sr. Individual contributor role. Primary responsibility is to manage the overall capacity and planning for distributed/open system compute infrastructure that supports Ensono shared/dedicated private cloud environment. This Sr. Capacity Manager will work with various platform/client capacity planners and other organizations (engineering, product, operations, finance and vendors) to properly identify what is needed on the compute infrastructure environment to support the existing and upcoming demand. The Sr. Capacity Manager will support new Global Capacity Feasibility Process, plan and manage compute Hardware/Software Availability/Inventory and develop appropriate business cases to support upcoming demand.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in a matrix global planning team and develop the multi-year compute capacity plan (both for dedicated client and shared infrastructure) that supports the forecasted demand that is based on historical, sales pipeline information, platform architecture/design, current and planned product releases, capacity availability (hardware, software) along with performing detail financial analytics (capital, expense)
  • Work in conjunction with other planners to support the end-to-end Global Capacity Inquiry Process with focused responsibility in the compute platform.  This requires full understanding of how each platform interfaces and impact each other
  • Utilize extensive compute experience and be able to perform detail analytics (whether it is virtual and/or physical compute) and work closely with compute/virtualization engineering and operations team to drive optimal capacity design and usage.  For example, how to optimize CPU, memory capacity and addressing any ballooning situations
  • Interface with capacity team members and work with other platform/client capacity planners, technical engineering and operations teams, sales, solution architect, vendors to develop compute/virtualization and holistic infrastructure architectural and standardize design.  Properly plan and manage compute hardware/software needed to support the required demand.  Develop capacity optimization plans, expansion plans and the appropriate business cases when required
  • Be able to work with technical engineering, architect and provide and present compute solutions to Ensono’s client critical infrastructure
  • Provide clients and executive leadership capacity reviews

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 8 to 10 years of Large Scale Compute Infrastructure planning experience with a Technical Bachelor Degree
  • In depth knowledge of Private and Public Cloud environment
  • Extensive and deep knowledge in compute virtualization, infrastructure, OS (windows, Linux, Unix), Hypervisor, Orchestration, vmWare, vCenter, vROPS
  • Experience in various modeling and forecasting methodology
  • Familiarity with how the compute infrastructure be the core part of other platforms (e.g. SDN, Cisco ACI, EPGs, container etc.)
  • Ability to work with technical engineering and operations to be able to help trouble shoot incidents on the compute platform
  • Knowledge in IT infrastructure, compute (mainframe, distributed), storage/backup
  • Extensive device planning experience

  • Public Cloud (AWS/Azure), Hybrid Cloud and VMWare experience
  • Financial Analytical and Planning Experience
  • Planning, modeling and simulation Experience
  • ServiceNow, SalesForce and ITSM Experience
  • ITIL foundation knowledge
