Security Operations Specialist

Responsible for general security operations management to include physical security systems, operating procedures, and oversight of guard personnel. The SOS conducts day-to-day activities involving access control, including badge processing and visitor/vendor control. Develops and monitors company safety programs and policies. Ensures security staff is properly trained on all applicable physical security systems, to include access control, CCTV, and fire alarm systems. Ensures physical security systems and controls are operating efficiently. Reviews and updates site security operations post orders. Operates company switchboard and provides direct customer service to associates, clients, and visitors. Provides support for client and regulatory/compliance security audits, surveys, and inspections. Supervises outsourced security personnel on a daily basis. Ensures compliance with government health and safety regulations.

JOB ROLE SUMMARY

Shift: Saturday and Sunday

Shift hours are 7AM-3PM but shifts can change depending on business needs.

Owns moderate to high complexity assignments
Provides oversight/review for low to moderate complexity assignments
Regularly leads self and established as specialist
Understands the “big picture” view and adjusts work accordingly

Security officer supervision and coordination

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have direct reports but may mentor less experienced associates in the role.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
General knowledge of access control and CCTV systems
Must have at least intermediate technical skills
Professional written and oral communication skills
Must have ability to lead security officer contractors

Preferred
Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
A Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification is desired
Advanced, proven knowledge of Physical Security
Any reference to years of experience should be disregarded in the UK
